Celebrating The Feast of St. Michael the Archangel

Yesterday was the feast of St. Michael the Archangel, or Michaelmas. The beautiful FSSP parish we attended is called St. Michael's and so this feast was raised to a first class feast. So this was a special day of celebration at our Church. A beautiful Mass was celebrated and then a potluck meal.

Since our Sunday was so busy and full we held off our home celebration until today. Any printables or ideas I got from Jessica's wonderful blog, Shower of Roses.

Devil's Food Cake cupcakes.  St. Michael stabbed the devil with his sword.  So we stabbed our Devil cupcakes with our swords before devouring them!  Claudio tried to piece together a St. Michael out of Playmobil, but he looks a bit like he has some sort of hormonal imbalance LOL...Ben said it was GOOD ENOUGH!!

Ben's copywork for the day: St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle

And some beautiful coloring work done of this image of St. Michael.

Ben lead us in the St. Michael prayer before we ate our cupcakes.

stabbing his cupcake!

And finally EAT the cupcakes ;)

Windy Nights..Ben's First Memorized Poem of 1st Grade.

Below are some of the illustrations he has done for poetry and religion:

Oops forgot to rotate...But this was his first illustration of Kindergarten.  Done for the poem Rain...It is basically some scribbles of color.

This is his narration and illustration done earlier this week of the Transfiguration after reading about St. Peter.  There are people climbing that mountain but they are very pale but I assure you they are there on the left LOL  But still you cean tell he drew a mountain with people on it and Jesus (also pale) is at the top.

This was done today when he finished memorizing Windy Nights.  He drew a night sky and trees.  And he drew a tiny horse with an even tinier man on it...what you don't see it????

See that darker green scribble in the middle there.  Yeah that is the horse and man LOL..But his drawing/illustration/understanding has improved so much in a year!

Photo Dump A La Benjamin!

So, I took the girls out to run some errands. Ben rarely wants to go food shopping and whatever else. So he was left home with Claudio who works from home.

Later that day I grabbed the camera to get a picture of something and my memory card was full. Huh??? I scroll the pics and I found about 50 random pictures. May of them cracked me up....looking like a crime scene. Or including Ben's feet....I hope you enjoy as much as I did:
